Design Software

Recommended Posts

Hey!I'm looking for some software to design the interior with.It shouldn't be too complex, altough it would be cool if I could test the stability and such. What did you use and would you recommend? or what did you hear of?TIA

hmmz .. Gmax ?Though that won't work for stability issues. Just make it a bit stronger than you think at first will do ;)You know the strength of all parts in the end cuz you made them but visitors have a hard time to etimate the strength of things they touch and they OFTEN break things .. :(That's why I will add to my basic "before startup checklist" the following item "cockpit weak items checklist completed [ ]"Then I will make a separate checklist where I put all the items I have to give some explanation about how they are made and how strong they are.

I have 3DMax, but don't think that's suitable for that(Gmax is the free and limited version of 3DMax)

I like the basics of 3DMax, but still not realy what I need. 3Dmax is too much to the visual aspect...

Why don't you give SketchUp a try? It's shareware, very easy, CAD like and it can do almost everything.www.sketchup.comHere's a small sample I made in just under an hour. Although the design itself is from my crap files you can get an idea.George DorkofikisAthens, Greecehttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/betaimg.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/90582.jpg

Glad to hear you got something working for you ..I can't see any difference though between what you can do with this compared to 3Dsmax ...

It is indeed the best software I have ever used! It's a pitty it costs that much. A question for other users: How can I view like from the top... I use 2 drawings (top and left), but when I draw on top of the drawing, and then extrude, the drawing doesn't match anymore (due to the 3d view), is there a way to switch to 2D view?
