Is this normal?

Sorry in advance if this has been hashed already guys, but I found nothing on the search....Is it normal that there is a difference of about 8 - 10 fps when pressing "Q"ie: sound off/on ?I can't believe that it takes such a hit on the system having sound ONPlease help with advice....Running on Win XP Pro40.41 Nvidia driver and a Soundblaster cardthanks

Surprisingly enough, sound does affect frame rates more than you might think. Just changing from mono to stereo can cause a measurable drop. How much of a hit it causes probably depends on the system. I was equally surprised to see the 4X anti-aliasing causes my frame rates on FS2K2 to drop by half. Far more than I experienced with Fly II.
