Real shot of niagara falls

Recommended Posts

I flew 900 miles today in the debonair-from fnt to sarasota springs, ny and back.Sites were great-over niagara falls, toronto, the great lakes, rochester, utica, the finger lakes, the mountains and lakes outside sarasota springs, the dc9 that passed 1000 ft. by us and the commuter that passed 1000 over-the clouds...on and on.Here are two shots-niagara falls, and the northern shore of Lake erie. Of the course the picts don't do it justice ...Niagara was surprising as at first we thought it was factory smoke-it was the plume of mist that must stretch 20 stories into the air!http://members.telocity.com/~geof43/Geofdog2.gif

JeanLuc-the idea occured to me! To tell you the truth-I was a little afraid of flying over the Canadian airspace. I had checked with aopa and fss and told it was ok-then had a Cfi tell me how the fighter escorts would arrive and....In any case it was easy... but to land requires a radio station license (which I don't have) and customs stuff.I do want to try landing sometime but a lot of details to look into.I'll get there someday-my passenger today was from Quebec City-wanted to stop by there so maybe I'll have some incentive!http://members.telocity.com/~geof43/Geofdog2.gif

Good thread this. Nawww, I'm not a real pilot, not like the lot of you. But have flown on many, many "puddle jumpers" right over these same spots. Mostly, Beechcraft. Even let me sit in the co-pilots seat on several occasions and spot traffic for the pilot. Brought back memories.Thanks.Yeah, the Finger Lakes. Good stuff.Frenchy -- out.

In the second picture you can see the Welland Canal that goes between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. When I was a kid growing up in Buffalo we drove over to Welland to see a British destroyer go thru the locks on it's way to Lake Erie for a tour of American cities on the lake. Nice pictures Geof.Ed Weber a.k.a tallpilot

Nice shots! Do you have the MS Niagra Falls add-on? Just wonder how it compares for the area....Since your both here...any word on when we'll see the "V" Tail version of the Debonair released? I look for word of it everyday! LOL!

What a heck of requirements! I never thought it was that specific considering the close situation of both countries. Looking forward to see you then anytime!

I filed ifr both way-it makes going over foreign airspace easier. Going I had a broken/scattered from 4000 up the last 40 minutes of the trip. Coming back had broken about 5000 on up and was in the clouds for about 1 hour from Utica to Buffulo-then they rose right about when going over Niagara falls and slowly vanished by the time I crossed the border into Michigan.http://members.telocity.com/~geof43/Geofdog2.gif
