probst 727 autopilot

The ap works great most of the time, but I've had some weird problems. On final with ILS tuned in and a close intercept course, sometimes it won't let me switch to "auto/gs". If I then turn off ap, it can't be turned on again. There have been other situations where turning off the ap is permanent-can't be turned on again. Did I miss something in the manual or is this a bug?wki3

Just did some experiments - if I turn the autopilot off by clicking on the autopilot aileron and elevator switches on the AP panel, I can turn them back on again. If I turn it off with my joystick button programmed to "z" - that's it, I can't turn on either axis again.I will have to try some more flights to sort out the auto/gs problem. Overall, I have to say this is the best simulations of 60s style autopilot.Dale

Come to think of it, I have this problem too. I'm the guy that had the problem with the trim making the aircraft climb and stall. I just put two and two together and realized when my problem happens, so does the above problem. Everytime my autopilot gets "locked out" the trim messes up on my system. But God I love this panel!Bob

Ditto here also. Best to just use the graphical interface to the autopilot for now.
