VUSAF Announces Activation of 3rd Wing (Elmendorf AFB A

The VUSAF is please to announce the activation of the 3rd Wing, based at Elmendorf AFB Alaska. The 3WG is a composite wing under the Pacific Air Forces Major Command. Under the Direction of Colonel AJ Brown, the 3WG is tasked with the primary responsibility as a lead Air Expeditionary Force wing; North American and Alaska Airspace Defense; and Interdiction and deployment to the Pacific Area of Responsbility.The 3WG is truly a composite wing, composed of the following elements:19th Fighter Squadron - F-15C/D12th Fighter Squadron - F-15E90th Fighter Squadron - F-15E517th Airlift Squadron - C130J and C-12962 Airborne Air Control Squadron - E-3CMore information can be found at http://www.vatsim-unaf.org/newphp/vusaf
