Hi, "we went from MS95 to MSFS98 - 3 yr gap"Yes for fs2004. Many people forget about the previous date released. Msfs have never released more than 2 years interval, Msfs have been released each years before Cfs series came in ground.April 1995FS 5.1 first version of FS on CD-Rom, Aug 1996Sixth Generation: FSW95 (FS 6.0): aug 1997FS98 (FS 6.1): TWO Years interval started because of CFS series.-Cfs1sept 1999Seventh Generation: FS2000 (FS 7.0): -Cfs2oct 2001Eighth Generation: FS 2002 (FS 8.0),-Cfs3Fs2004Flight Simulator Time Linehttp://simflight.com/~fshistory/fsh/timeline.htmThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFshttp://fsw.simflight.com/fsw.jpg

Howdy,Hmmmmmm. If MS is true to form then FS.9 (whenever it is released) will contain some form of experimental breakthrough (quoting from the aforementioned source: "the uneven versions contain the technological breakthroughs, the even versions the refinements").

"Yep, they'll be a FS2004. Hopefully with a new graphics engine." I know that FS 2004 will be based on the same graphics engine as FS 2002, with support from gmax aircraft/scenery. What do you not like about the graphics engine in 2K2?Regards,Owen

The current graphics engine is a bit 'sluggish' to me. FS2k2 brigns my P4 to it's knees ocassionally. It'd be nice if M$ could find a way to make FS2k4 a bit less graphics intensive, while trying to maintain as much visual 'eye candy' as possible.Ryan-Flightpro08 :-coolVATSIM Pilot/ControllerZLA ARTCC Controller 1 (C-1)SAN TRACON Lead [link:www.taxiwaysigns.com]Taxiwaysigns.com Scenery Designer-----------------------------My "Home Made" System Specs:Intel Pentium 4 2.2GHz ProcessorTurbo Gamer ATX Mid-Tower with 420W Power SupplyEPoX 4G4A Motherboard with Intel 845G ChipsetVisiontek XTASY GeForce4 128MB Ti4600 (Det 40.41 Drivers)512MB PC2100 DDR RAM40GB Matrox 7200RPM Hard DriveWindows XP Home Edition*No CPU or GPU Overclocking*3dMark2001SE Score: 11298
