Recommended Posts

UVA IMPLEMENTS STAR ALLIANCE AND PARTNER AIRLINES SCHEDULE Chicago, October 31, 2005 -- United Virtual Airlines (UVA) President and Chief Operating Officer David Klain today announced that the UVA Board of Directors approved implementation of Star Alliance and code share flights from the United Airlines real world schedule effective November 1, 2005. This upgrade significantly expands UVA flight schedule destinations and opens up large parts of Asia, Australia/New Zealand, Europe, Africa and the Middle East to UVA pilots, who will have access to the following equipment in the fleet.Category IBeechcraft 1900DeHaviland Dash-8-100DeHaviland Dash-8-200DeHaviland Dash-8-300Brasilia EMB-120Saab 340Category IIBritish Aerospace 146Canadair CRJ-100Canadair CRJ-200Canadair CRJ-700Embraer 170Embraer EMB-175Embraer ERJ-145Category IIIAirbus A319Airbus A320Airbus A321Boeing 737-300Boeing 737-400Boeing 737-500Boeing 737-600Boeing 737-700Boeing 737-800Category IVBoeing 757Boeing 767-300ERBoeing 767Category VBoeing 777-200Boeing 777Category VIBoeing 747-400Boeing 747-300Boeing 747-400 (Combi)As UVA simulates United and not Star Alliance, the UVA Board made a decision to add flights from the United schedule which use the same equipment, and equipment variants, used in the United fleet. For example, if a code share flight in the United schedule uses an Airbus A341 it is not available to UVA pilots; however, if it uses an Airbus A321 it is available to UVA pilots. The Board determined this was the best way to maximize the number of new routes while not fundamentally altering the kinds of equipment flown by UVA Pilots. This important upgrade provides a very major expansion of UVA
