Hi Mike, like most people in this forum, I really enjoy all the hard work and effort you have put into designing your own aircrafts and keeping flightsim afloat. You are a work of art. Thanks for eveythingI have been flightsimming for 10 years now and I would have to consider myself a Pro at it. I have pretty much flown everything flightsim has to offer, but I personally think there is one thing lacking...Thats designing....As much as I'd like to do it, I could hardly find the time and effort on learning how to. I'm not sure if its the software that prevents me from doing so, but its really difficult getting started. I have both FSDS and Gmax, and also Photoshop 7.0 and Paint Shop Pro, but just can't seem to get started. I've read some tutorial for a few but man, there seems to be tooo many variables. Is there anyway a Pro like yourself can provide some very easy to do, step by step process on how I can accomplish this?...If I can spend up to two to three months building scale aircrafts, then I know this is something I can accomplish...Thanks for listening and keep up the good work..Troy

Hi Troy,You can always have a look at:http://www.freeflightdesign.comWhich is a great resource for anyone just starting out. If you are planning on starting an aircraft from scratch then believe me there is lots more to designing aircraft than just GMAX, although that is a decent starting point. There is also a tutorial within the help section of GMAX which will get you started.. ..The rest of the blanks (after the tutorials give you the meat & bones) can be normally filled by a search in the design forum OR asking the question there !!!! GMAX support forum is located at www.gmaxsupport.com - look in the FS2002 gamepak forum !!! (edit - oh by the way I didn't confuse myself with Mike there !!) Hope that helps,

The best way to start is to download someone's plane at Freeflight and see how they did it. Try changing something simple first (like the shape of something you don't think looks quite right), and you'll get the hang of it. Stumped? Check out the Tutorials and Tips sections. Nothing there? Post a message on our forumHope this helps,-- Tom Gibson/FFDSCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

I suggest that you start without concern for output, the hardest thing to do is forget about your hopes/dreams, and just focus on a dumb tutorial....but it will help you the most to get over this "hump"...just getting familier with certain things by doing will free your mind and you'll begin to "see" it.Good luck..Bob Bernstein
