EastJet Virtual, the up and coming airline based at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, has announced additions to it's fleet and new destinations for the Fall schedule. "I am excited to announce that EastJet will serve St. Petersburg/Clearwater International airport starting August 1st." CEO Shawn Fitts announced during a news conference at the EastJet maintenance hanger today. "Three daily flights from Cincinnati (CVG) will serve the Tampa market very well." Asked how they are able to expand when other airlines are reducing flights and even cutting staff, Mr. Fitts added "We give the customer what they want, when they want it. On-time performance, clean aircraft and friendly staff tends to attract customers. When they started asking about a mid-day departure to Florida, we give it to them." EastJet also announced the addition of four (4) Boeing 737-300 series aircraft and four (4) additional CRJ-200 series regional aircraft to its fleet. "After a month of operations and fuel continuing to reach historic heights, we needed a bigger aircraft to serve New York, Boston, and Tampa. The four CRJ-200's will help add services to new regional destinations and take some strain off of the already very tight schedule." added Mr. Fitts. EastJet expects the Boeing 737 to start proving runs late next week. Analysts say that the lease on a 737-300 could cost EastJet $130,000 to $190,000/month or if purchased, close to $10 million dollars. For more information, visit www.eastjetvirtual.com
