Hi Jordan,Same here, I belonged to a PC Jr club, that met once a month at the local Holiday Inn. I never even heard about Compuserve until I attended the first Microwings conference at Cornell University. It was really fun meeting some of the famous names at that time, such as Bruce Artwick, Rick Lee, Joe Lincoln, Leaming Wheeler, Robert MacKay and many many more. That was also the first time we ever heard FS with a "sound card". Yes, we have come a long way.Regards,Howard

Hi, my name is Bill, and I too am a flightsim addict. I haven't been flying since the Commodore days. In fact, my very first MSFS flight was in... gasp... FS2000! Heck, I've only been computing since 1995! Oh sure, they had a couple of sad little Macs when I was in art school back during Reagan's terms in office, but you couldn't do anything truly cool with them. Then in the mid 90's my wife-to-be introduced me to desktop publishing, then digital photo manipulation, then we both became web designers... and now I build computers for fun, fly constantly and have my head buried a bunch of FS design projects. Thankfully, since she's the one who indirectly got me into it in the first place, my other half is understanding of all this.I was recently laid off from my day job, and my first thought was "hey, now I don't have to hide it when I'm surfing Avsim during the day!" There's got to be something wrong with that, but I don't care! I'm having a blast doing freelance work and building scenery, and I don't care if I ever get a "real job" again. So no, I don't want a 12-step program to quit. But is there a program to help initiate newbies to our little world? I ask because my 18-year-old is waaay into computers and gaming, but he's only interested in RPGs, galavanting around with swords and casting spells, solving puzzles and such. I've got to find a way to show the young man the error of his ways and get him into a cockpit where he belongs!Hey, is there any coffee left? And how about somebody brings doughnuts next time? Geez.
