New Fleet Type; New Livery - 767 Delivery Flight for Celtic AnnouncedOntario, CA - The first of several new build Boeing 767-200ER aircraft destined for Celtic Airways has completed fitting at the company's wide body maintenance facility at the Ontario International Airport. It has been officially added to the company fleet registry and Flight CA8767 now appears in the flight database for Thursday, January 24, as the aircraft's formal delivery flight. CA8767 will be piloted by Pilot CWA003, Alex Ho. It is scheduled to arrive at the airline's Dublin hub some time in the early to mid morning Dublin time. This aircraft will allow Celtic Airways to begin to operate its Dublin hub as an alternate gateway to Europe, bypassing the busy European hubs, with easy connections anywhere on the continent. Its initial schedule will have it operating 2x weekly between Dublin and New York Kennedy and 2x weekly between Dublin and Boston Logan. As more 767s are delivered, including new build 767-300ER models, frequencies and destinations will increase. Delivery of this aircraft also marks a new era for Celtic Airways, as it will carry the airlines modernized color scheme. Hints have been dropped here and there, but it is said to incorporate elements both old and new. This initial aircraft will be named for Jim Oates, a former Celtic executive. While no longer with the company, Jim was instrumental in getting Celtic off the ground in its early years. In conjunction with this new livery, work continues on renovating the contents of Celtic's website. Newly refreshed sections are marked as "NEW" on the site navigation bar. Most of that work will be complete in time for the launch of 767 commercial flights, and the beginning of a publicity and recruitment drive. It will also kick off what is being called "Phase 2" of the website and airline operations renovation project.Celtic Airways, the flagship carrier of the Celtic World Airways Group, can be found at fly.celticva.com .
