Hi all. How many sceneries have been made of this fantastic airport? I have one (freeware) that will work, but I was wondering if there were a few to choose from. THANKS!! :)Don

Don,AFAIK there were only two sceneries ever made, one payware and one freeware. The payware one was made by the "Reiffer Bros" for FS2000 and never got updated for FS2002. Today, it isn

I think I have seen about 3 - one freeware for FS2k, one freeware for FS2k2 and one payware one (I think that was for FS2k2). Certainly the latter 2 use terrain to model the sloping runway (which IMHO causes as many problems as it solves).I used "Airport" to create one with a flat runway and buildings in "roughly" the right places (I actually think it is a little big), if I has overhead plans and better pictures of the buildings then I may consider doing one for release.. .. ..

Courchevel - your recollection is my recollection also, Gazza. The very nice one for FS2K doesn't work in FS2002 ... but the "Altiports" freeware one is functional, if not that pretty. The sloping runway is different, for sure, but pretty bumpy, being terrain! However, in my first ever landing in my new 260, she came in sweetly and with a few bumps and bangs stopped nicely by the other aircraft parked there before she otherwise might have wedged herself in a bit of solid Alp.It works best with Thierry's Alp mesh, of course. The demo one is adequate for this.A friend of mine flies for real into Meribel from Southampton with a private charter service ... I'll dig out some of his real world pics in due course.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/reds.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

Mark,do you happen to have any idea how to create a runway definition for the freeware Courchevel scenery? You know, I can create flightplans originating at other airports with Courchevel as the destination, but no flightplans starting there because the place only has an airfield definition, with no specified runways.Cheers,

Thanks guys. That (02) must be the one I have. It's fun. THAT would be a cool project to do now! Glad I can't do terrain! LOL!Don

The Altiports pack comes with a startup flight that you can modify to put your own aircraft in position. Default is the Cessna 182S.Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontEDIT: Mmmm ... that's not really what you're asking for DM, is it. In a word, no, I don't know how to create an AFD entry but I am sure others do.http://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/reds.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

Hi Dominik,That is the problem using "Terrain" as a runway - in that as far as FS is concerned there is no runway there at all. I think Mark's solution is the correct one !!! What we really need is support for sloped runways, until then they are either flat or you have to land on terrain !!

I would love to see those pics - I have flown in & out of Meribel precisely once - next time I am there I will be coughing up for a trip around Mont Blanc since the "short trip" that they do is a little too short.Fantastic scenery and a scary takeoff & landing !!!

Hi Don,you are everywhere!Do you think to make some "Altiport"?It will be fantastic, but you have to solve the problem of sloped runways not admitted by FS2002. Give a look (if not already done) at Bernard Martin's web site (http://perso.wanadoo.fr/bravomike/) there are a lot of mountains airports).Andrea
