Another voicepack editing question...

Recommended Posts

Guest Dominik Mann

Even though I have read through the instructions several times, I still have not managed to add more than two additions to my FS 2002 ATC voicepack. Here's how I proceeded: I first extracted the original germanbig.gvp file from CD #1 (just to be sure) and then opened EditVoicepack.exe. I then hit "File/Open" as per the instructions and selected the file "Sample.vcpmod" that came with EditVP. After the airline callsign list in the left column had been updated, I removed three airlines Lars Mollebjerg (thanks again for your advice! :D ) directed me to delete from the list because they would cause an error while updating the voicepack. Then I hit "Open" again and added two or three other voicepacks. I adjusted everything (including an update of my airlines.cfg file) and had EditVP update my GVP file, and made a backup of the now-edited file just to be sure. I made sure it worked to my satisfaction and exited FS again to add a few more packs. However, when I tried to do so, I would apparently lose all airline callsigns (even the standard ones like "United" or "Lufthansa", as far as I checked), and when I checked the size of the GVP file I noticed it had shrunk by a few megabytes back to its original size (174 MB vs. 179 MB after my first - successful - update). I tried both the "Open" as well as the "Import" function, but until now I only managed to update my voicepack file correctly as long as I did so in *one* session only. All successive sessions were, so far, unsuccessful and left me with a nonfunctional GVP file.Anybody able to help me out here? Or should I rather wait for EditVP 2.0 :D ?Cheers,

Every time you use it you are starting from *scratch*. You must add in every voice pack you want to add to the default each and every time you use it.
