Debonair Autopilot

Recommended Posts

Guest

Sorry if this is a bit of an obvious or stupid question. After spending ages fiddling with the wonderful Beech Debonair download I finally worked out how to turn the autopilot on. But one thing I haven't managed to work out is how I can set the altitude I want the autopilot to hold at.I can see some sort of green 'bug' on the altimiter and I assume that is the altitude the RealityXP autopilot holds at, but how do I change this?ThanksH

No questions are stupid! You can download the real manual online here-read about the stec 50-not 40:http://www.s-tec.com/pdf/sys4050poh.PDFThe bug on the altimeter is a plastic deal from sporty's I use to remind me of the altitude atc gives-it is mechanical and non functional on the deb.Setting altitude is very easy-get the plane to the altitude you want-trim it and the push "alt". (You have to have run through the "test" process first on the ground with trim in neutrol-the red test button on the top-then back to the middle position). If you haven't trimmed correctly or things change the lights on the right side will light up -"up" and "dn". At that point give it a little trim to keep the lights off.Hope that answers the question-reading the online manual is probably the easiest and best way to go.http://members.telocity.com/~geof43/Geofdog2.gif

Geofa must be a very kind and helpfull man, telling you what you also could have read in 1962 Beech Debonair-Read me 1st!.htm. This file was installed with the Debonair in a subir called Debonair.Read section #17 ad 4) of that document.Spending ages fiddling with the aircraft, instead of starting to read TFM first, huh? ;) Jozef Kusters http://httpd.chello.nl/~j-kusters/logo.gif [link:Ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Tradewind/"]Visit TCA TradeWind ][/font

You are welcome. But no sarcasme meant, allthough a little ironic may have crept in.That file, by the way, is automatically installed with the installation of the Debonair, which was packed in a self installing .exe file. What sense would it otherwise make to call that file "Read Me 1st!"?Jozef Kusters http://httpd.chello.nl/~j-kusters/logo.gif [link:Ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Tradewind/"]Visit TCA TradeWind ][/font
