Wow! What a great find! I've been doing some searches recently for specific aircraft, like good A-300s and A-310s, and have found that it's definitely worthwhile to check Google's search engine along with AVSim and other sim repositories. As good as these libraries are, they're by no means complete, and you never know when you're going to run across a stellar release!

Tom Gibson and others have done recent work on the Douglas series and many others. Check out http://www.simufly.com/cgi-local/YaBB/YaBB...d=Classic_Props to get the buzz.Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontEDIT: For those of you having trouble connecting to Staffan's link, many of the FS-Design planes are available in the usual libraries.http://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/reds.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

Thanks Mark, but unfortunately those Douglas birds were the ones I ment with FS5 converted to FS2002. ;-)What I ment was, if there are any Gmax standard DC6 or 7

Those are hardly FS5 models - they are FS98. Big difference. And no, there are no FS2002 DC-6/7's, and I haven't heard of anyone doing them either.-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Anyone have any idea when we are getting the fs2k2 version? I've tried the one from Tom Gibson's cite and it looks great, but the panel does not allow for changing the fuel mixture, which as a consequence, limits altitude to just about 6000 feet. Any attempts higher, and the old girl kind of runs out of steam...Thanks All!Sherm

Using version 4 of the DC-6 panel (which is the one current for FS2002), you can change the mixture using either the mouse or the keyboard (the red knobs). I press Ctrl-Shift-F2 to lean the engines until they are just below AutoLean. Then they run fine up to the service ceiling (around 22,00 ft). Hope this helps.-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

>Those are hardly FS5 models - they are FS98. Big >difference. Hmmm,...sorry Tom, my misstake. But something told me that those models from the very beginning was FS5 models which got several conversions to the standard they have now. ;-)I think that I got that info from some forum about a year ago....Anyway, the models looks very good. But I miss the night textures and 512 x 512 bitmap textures for easy repainting. :-)Fly safe, :-waveStaffan Ahlberg

Staffan,There is a file, dc6bpwa.zip that is a FS2K2 DC-6 of Pacific Western Airlines that I got the other day. It is either here or at FlightSim.com. I don't remember which. It says that it is made for FS2K2 and it looks pretty good.maxsdad

No problem. Actually, there have been 7 versions of the DC-6B; 2 for FS5, one for FS95, 2 for FS98, 1 for FS2000, and 1 for FS2002 (minor upgrade). :)I certainly hope there will be a true FS2002 version out there someday, but for now these will have to do...-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
