Radeon 9000 Pro 128mb

Is anyone using this card for FS2k2. I see that it is selling for $150.00. Thinking about replacing my Visiontek GTS 32mb. FS2k2 runs fine with my present card, but I might try something new. No way I will pay $300.00-$400.00 for a card, just to run FS2k2. I might pay $150.00 though. Any thoughts? Thanks

For $150, you can get a GeForce 4 Ti4200 (and maybe even a 4400.) These can both overclock (with additional cooling, which would only be about $20) to GeForce 4 Ti4600 speeds, which is a $250-$300 card. There's a post over at fssim by a Douglas who just got his going. Last report was that he loved it. Check it out. That's the only report I've seen with the 9000 and FS2k2.

Wow, that sounds like a good deal. The new Radeon is suppost to be better then the GF4's. It should make FS run great.

Hi Ryan,honestly I never understood the argument that one can overclock a card and make it a faster card that sells at a higher price. Remember, you can also overclock the Ti4600 to a clockspeed you could never reach with a Ti4200. So what is the point here?Alex

Alex,Actually, that's not really true. The Ti4600 does not overclock very well, as the RAM that is used in the GeForce 4 series of cards can only be overclocked to a certain point, and the 4600 is just about at that level.
