How Do I Adjust Height of Aircraft ????

Recommended Posts

Guest

If anyone in this forum knows how to adjust the overall height of an aircraft, so the tires are firmly on the ground please let me know. I usually use AirEd for editing parameters in air files.I have done it in the past but its been a long time.ThanksAndy

Hi Andy,I believe that this is the variable "contact_points" in the aircraft.cfg file. This file over-rides a lot of the .air file variables. If it's one specific a/c that you have trouble with, you might want to try copying this section into your current .cfg file (from the source .cfg file from the author), over-writing the current section. backing up the file first, of course.Bruce.

I appreciate the advice but it has to do with a Mike Stone B727 at the new CYUL scnenery. The aircraft sits normal at other locations but for some reason it is floating at this airport. If I do change these contact points which ones contol the landing gear. Thanks

I wish I could help more, but I'm already out of my depth with this subject! :) The contact points answer I gave I don't think will help you. Is the airport you refer to a default or 3rd party one? If the latter, I'd contact the author. Sorry I can't be of any more help.Bruce.Edit: I've just been to CYUL with the same B727, and mine is OK. Then I realixed that CYUL is Montreal, and I wonder if you have the add-on installed for that airport (it was here at AVSIM earlier this week). It is possible (although I'm not suggesting) that you have a "floating runway", although I'm not sure how to fix it. I haven;t seen them for a while, but used to be constant issues in FS98, as I recall. Good luck. Bruce.

Bruce I am using the CYUL 3rd party Scenery that I downloaded this week. I also use a yeo-design 737-200 and that plane behaves fine. I am noticing other AI planes leaving a smoke cloud on the runway that seems to just stay there. I think I am going to remove CYUL and dress it up using FSSE utilizing the default textures in FS2K2.Thanks Bruce
