Please help...radio stack inoperable!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys. I've been flying some addon aircraft lately (DF737, POSKY 767 etc) and just noticed today that my default radio stack for the Cessna Skylane etc doesn't work anymore! I am unable to change frequencys on either the com or nav radios manually. The + and - hotspots show up when I hover, but clicking the mouse doesn't change frequency. The ADF and transponder will allow me to change the frequency up (+) but the down (-) hotspots don't appear anywhere.I must have loaded some gauges that screwed this up. Does anyone know what files I must replace to fix this? I'd rather not reinstall the whole program as I have quite a few aircraft installed which have added stuff to the gauges folder...so backing up just the aircraft folder won't really work well. Please help! :)

Very odd indeed. I'd try installing the lastest version of FSUIPC. If that doesn't work, try deleting your FS2002.cfg file in your MAIN FS2k2 directory. FS2k2 will build a new one on its next boot-up and all yu have to do is reconfigure all of your settings. This has been known to fix oddities that pop up in FS2k2.Ryan-Flightpro08 :-cool VATSIM Pilot/ControllerZLA ARTCC Controller 1 (C-1)SAN TRACON Lead [link:www.taxiwaysigns.com]Taxiwaysigns.com Scenery Designerhttp://members.cox.net/santracon/images/san_logo.jpg-----------------------------My "Home Made" System Specs:Intel Pentium 4 2.2GHz ProcessorTurbo Gamer ATX Mid-Tower with 420W Power SupplyEPoX 4G4A Motherboard with Intel 845G ChipsetVisiontek XTASY GeForce4 128MB Ti4600 (Det 30.30 Drivers)512MB PC2100 DDR RAM40GB Matrox 7200RPM Hard DriveWindows XP Home Edition SP1*No CPU or GPU Overclocking*3dMark2001SE Score: 11298

Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately they didn't work. I have the newest FSUIPC (2.91 ?) and tried deleting the fs2002.cfg...same problem. :(

It sounds as if you are using another aircraft.cfg file with changed &l;Radios&r; section.Any chance this happened? It should look like the following:&l;Radios&r;// Radio Type=availiable, standby frequency, has glide slopeAudio.1=1Com.1=1, 1Com.2=1, 1Nav.1=1, 1, 1Nav.2=1, 1, 0Adf.1=1Transponder.1=1Marker.1=1Also, one thing that's always driven me nuts, and shown MS's quality control: look at how they've spelled "available". Just an observation. ;-)If that's not it, are you using the default panel? Checking the Bendix_King_Radio.gau file, does the date look right? Mine's version 8.00.010919.01, dated: Wednesday, September 19, 2001 6:00:42 PM.

Thanks a bunch Scott. I will check that tonight. It's not just one plane either...seems any plane which uses the standard Cessna radio stack has the problem. I bought the SF.260 last night (which uses the regular stack) and noticed it didn't work. So I loaded up the Cessna Skylane and it was broken there too :( Fingers crossed it's that simple, or maybe just a bad .gau file. Thanks for the file name, I'll try replacing that too...

Scott you rule. Somehow one of the panels I installed must have downgraded the version of the radio .gau file...it was FS2000 version! Replaced it with the one on the CD and it works perfectly now. :) :) :)

Nathan,Glad to read it. When all the panels have the same problem, it's usually the gauge. ;-)This is why I never include default gauges in my panels (well that the megabytes of wasted DL time :-lol).
