HelloI have heard that at Los Angeles KLAX all 4 runways are used most all of the times simultaniously. For example 24R 24L 25R 25L. Can someone let me know just what runways are normally used for what purpose simulataniously?ThanksMichael Cedergren

Can >someone let me know just what runways are normally used for what >purpose simulataniously? The runways closest to the terminals are the departure runways (24L/25R), the outer runways (24R/25L) are used for arrivals. The North departure runway 24L is used more for North and West departures (SFO,SEA, Japan, etc). The South departure runway (25R)is used more for East and South departures (DEN,LAS,PHX,CHI,DFW,NY, Mexico, S America, etc)Arrivals from the North and West use 24R, Arrivals from the East and south use 25L.There are exceptions of course, I believe a few Airlines often use the North runway (24R) for arrivals from the east if their gates are on the north terminal. Most of the time the airport operates west (24,25), as the winds mostly come in from the West.Regards.Ernie.
