Look up at every plane that flies over head and say, "I've flown one of those".

A so long thread just cries for some statistics:The most common commodity most of us have at home (judging by this thread) is a wife. Together with the total lack of any mention of a husband one can assume that we are a male over 25. Also standing out by their nonattendance are the kids. This is very understandable if THAT is what we do at night. The mystery is however the car. If we are at the same time unemployed AND on sick leave, how can we afford this machine with the collective handbrake we use to circle the block??????Ilan

You attempt to ask ground control for "Push and start" when starting your car and starting to pull out of your driveway. :-lolRyan-Flightpro08 :-cool VATSIM Pilot/ControllerZLA ARTCC Controller 1 (C-1)SAN TRACON Lead [link:www.taxiwaysigns.com]Taxiwaysigns.com Scenery Designerhttp://members.cox.net/santracon/images/san_logo.jpg-----------------------------My "Home Made" System Specs:Intel Pentium 4 2.2GHz ProcessorTurbo Gamer ATX Mid-Tower with 420W Power SupplyEPoX 4G4A Motherboard with Intel 845G ChipsetVisiontek XTASY GeForce4 128MB Ti4600 (Det 30.30 Drivers)512MB PC2100 DDR RAM40GB Matrox 7200RPM Hard DriveWindows XP Home Edition SP1*No CPU or GPU Overclocking*3dMark2001SE Score: 11298

Not just in flightsimming....but in the real world as well.As a student pilot with too many hours I find that when I shut down my car I shut down every accessory (lights, a/c, radio, wipers) BEFORE shutting off the ignition. When I come out the house to get in the car I often have a quick look at all tires to make sure they're ok & I still check all my doors when locking the car even though I have power locks on it.I've never yelled 'Clear Prop' yet but I do start the car & then switch on the accessories to protect the avionics...ahhh...the radio. When I drive into the underground garage at work & find that there are not too many cars I do end up doing a proper left hand circuit to my parking spot, downwind, base & final approach.Luckily, I have never yet come up very fast behind the car in front & tried to pull back on the steering wheel to execute a go-around!!Flightsimming & real world flight, it gets to be a proper obsession doesn't it!!Michael

When you're flying home on a business trip and you take mental notes of the airport, taxiing, departure rwy and the approach into your local airport so that you can simulate it when you get home.YOU TOO? When I went on holiday this year i made notes of everything the cap'n said about runway, winds etc and memoprised the flight map that pops up on TV screens and as soon as i got back here i did just that!!!
