Piper Meridian - sneak peak from Flight1

Recommended Posts

Jim Rhoads posted them yesterday on their forum - they are still warm. Aren't they incredible ? Have you seen equally stunning looking panel, gauges detail lately ?. You want to see the aircraft exterior shot - go to their forum. Odd!! Just visited the forum and not a screenshot to be seen! I wonder if they were pulled for some reason?! :-hmmm

It's a work of art....I looked at www.aso.com this afternoon to view some of the Meridian's for sale. This one looks flawlessly modelled, and it's still in the early stages! In addition to the DF Cardinal and Flight1 421, I believe this will become my third payware aircraft, without a doubt! Just wish I could afford the real thing... :(

Ooops! Because the URL has the word "promo" in it, the ad blocker plugin for my firewall (Outpost) decided the screenshots were ads and blocked them!!I can see them now - impressive!

These shots are really impressive. The PFD is also modeled with reality-xp true display xp vector drawing. It is as close as the latest ad I've seen in Flying Magazine, and it works in the VC! Those who have tried the 737 ADI demo will know what it is like to fly with a smooth Attitude Display. A first! I would love to have this technology in my favorite A320 and B737 glass cockpit!

>Just wish I could afford the real thing... :( I saw one 2-year old Meridian for below $1300K (close to 30% less than new) - I can see they depreciate rather quickly - there is a hope for us ! ;-)Michael J.

I was surprised to see the depreciation. Probably an indicator of the economy, I'm afraid. And if the Eclipse Jet really comes in for less than $1 Million, it could kill the Meridian. I've been watching that site for a while now...I'm eager to see that project succeed, as it could put jet charters into the reach of many. My wife and I have often put off flying to see her family--with a toddler and 8+ hours of flights and connections, her hometown is a chore to get to. It'd be worth it for us to fly down in something like the Eclipse, which would cut the 800NM flight to around 2 1/2 hours.... Even a Cessna 421 would cut it to 3 1/2 hours.

>Jet really comes in for less than $1 Million, it could kill >the Meridian. I thought about it too. The Eclipse could kill many things ... The whole used/new aircraft market could be in turmoil. My company (Raytheon) makes the Beech Baron which costs roughly the same as the Eclipse. If I were a current Baron owner I would not appreciate this Eclipse stuff ... Michael J.

There's just one problem with the Meridian..... Payload. If you fill the tanks to the top, you and your one passenger better not weigh more than a supermodel (Leaves me and my girlfriend out :-lol ) and not have more than a toothbrush for luggage. To fill all 6 seats with people you will have not much more than an hour fuel with a 45 min IFR Reserve.... For the price and usable payload give me an Eclipse.... Or actualy a PC-12 would be nice :-)Brian

Brian -One thing to note, that you will rarely fill the tanks to the top on the Meridian. Doing so would extend your range to over 1000 nm even with IFR reserves, which is often not needed.Although, it is true, if you load the tanks, you and your passenger better fly naked. ;-)Heck, a Piper 235/236 has close to the same useful load as the Meridian. :-eek But then again, they look sooooo good. ;-) Especially with that PT-6A in it. http://www.airliners.net/open.file/271454/L/ (granted this is a Malibu)http://www.airliners.net/open.file/269300/L/Regards,http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jsnyder99/sigs/photopiper.jpg | [LINK:www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?photographersearch=Jeffrey%20L.%20Snyder&distinct_entry=true|AIRLINERS.NET PHOTOS] [link:www.biblegateway.com/bgaudio/english/NIV/Max%20McLean/RM/bgaudio.pl?selection=1|AUDIO BIBLE] ] JEFF_S_KDTW@YAHOO.COM[/font

That Meridian is looking absolutely great! Though it leaves me with some sad feelings. I had some very nice progress with a freeware Piper Malibu Meridian project that I was making. Then Flight1 came and announced they are making a Meridian, I abandoned my project. Afterall Dreamfleet and Flight1 are working so closely together that it simply would not have been fair from me to release my plane. It would only have been hurting Flight1's income so I desided to put my project on back. Nope, I was never asked to do that. It was just my personal decision... Here's a couple of shots what I had coming:http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/mmniemi/shots/meri1.jpghttp://www.flightsimnetwork.com/mmniemi/shots/meri2.jpghttp://www.flightsimnetwork.com/mmniemi/shots/meri3.jpgIan Grant was also making some great progress with the panel..http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/mmniemi/shots/meripanel.jpgMaybe someday I will finish it for my personal use, who knows...
