Been looking around for a nice B-17 to fly in FS2002. Haven't found one yet suprisingly. Does anyone know of a nice one with panel?

Give it another month. The B-17 is conspicously absent from CFS3, so there should be a bunch in a few weeks.

There are a couple of pretty good examples available, one payware and the others are freeware. AlphaSim is the payware site that has the really good B-17D model and back a year or so, the A.C.T. group had designed a very nice model and then had a repaint contest open to anyone. There are many outstanding models that appeared because of the repaint contest. Just do a search for ACT at Simviation.com, Flightsim.com, and AVSIM!Bear! The below shots are of both the Alphasim B-17D (note chin turrent) and 3 different repaints of the ACT version B-17F. At last count, I have about two dozen examples (different repaints) of the ACT B-17F.http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3db0af353456db76.jpg

Those look great! You don't by chance know of anywhere I can download those ACT repaints do you? All I have found was the original model they put out. Their page http://www.ad2001.org/ no longer appears to work. I'd love to get ahold of those repaints...the B-17F is my favorite variation of the B-17.Thanks!

Thanks, just found those (when I can actually download from flightsim...it usually tells me it's full and I can't get anything). Unforunately when I loaded them up I couldn't get the thing off the runway (max I could reach at Boeing field was about 68 KIAS) and it didn't include a panel (so it was using my SF.260 panel?). Looks like it's still all setup for FS2000. Anyone know how to update for FS2002 and get a nice panel as well?

I have brought over from CFS2 5 of these B-17s and I have problems getting them up as well, don't know to much about airfiles, but also tried to use them as AI and they show up great, just don't take off, when they rev the engines to go down the runway, they nose forward and hit the ground, wish there was a fix for this, looks pretty cool having 20 B-17s at your airfield. You can find them all at Flightsim.com, and like Bear, once you get a membership, never a problem getting in!!regards, Michaelhttp://www.geocities.com/res052cd/cmhbanner.gif
