How To Make A Signature...

Recommended Posts

Guest

1. Load PSP and create a work area about 600 x 100, this can be refined later depending on the overall size you wish to use for your signature and of course you can make it bigger or smaller, my size was just a recommendation. You must also prepare the images you wish to use. Crop them and make sure they will fit in to your work space; the good thing about PSP is that you can move the image around the space to find the best part of the image to use.http://flightcraft.avsim.net/Images/Sig1.jpg2. Copy your first image into the work area 'As A New Layer' (the 'new layer' is very important. This can be done by RIGHT clicking on the work area and selecting the option for the menu that appears. If you don't do it as a new layer, the image will be pasted into a new work area and you won't be able to build up layers to fade other images in the same picture. Apply this principle when adding anything to the current image.http://flightcraft.avsim.net/Images/Sig2.jpg3. When you have you first image you can then change it's layer properties. I tent to just change the opacity of the first image to between 25 - 45 % of its normal solidity. That way other images should blend nicely into it. http://flightcraft.avsim.net/Images/Sig3.jpg4. Gradually apply different images to the same work space and edit each layer as they come, opacity and the type of layer which, in PSP can be changed to create all kinds of great effects and blends.http://flightcraft.avsim.net/Images/Sig4.jpg5. When you are happy with the image you have, add some personal details, name, email address and homepage if you have one. Save it as a .JPG to keep the size down. Then, stick on AVSIM and see how it looks.http://flightcraft.avsim.net/Images/Sig5.jpgTIPS: Play around with the settings, you probably won't like it first time round, I know I didn't. Use different types of layer blends to create the best effect.Don't overload your image with too many layer, four or five should be the maximum.Use different shapes to make things look weird and wonderful.Hope this HelpsRegards,Adam Nardone

Jinesh --Thats not hard at all. But first, you need to find a web site hosting company, or a company that will host your image. You need to be wary, images suck up bandwidth and most companies that do freesites(even pay sites) give you limited amounts of bandwidth.Nice tutorial BTW!! If I wasn't away from home on my friends laptop, I know what I would be doing :-)Clear skies

Well many thanks for this clear and succinct tutorial! I shall be saving this page for future reference. I enjoy messing around with PSP, though I've never taken the time to go through any tutorials or books on image editing. But I love those professional montages I see at various sites; maybe now I'll try my hand at making one of those....
