FS2002 and Math

If avgas weighs 6 lbs. per gallon, why is FS saying 100 gallons weighs 603 lbs.?

Maybe it's figuring it this waycapacity 121 x 83% = 100.43100.43 x 6 = 602.58, rounded to 603Kurt M

Really don't know why. When I was developping FSacars ver 1, all code was for Kg. Because FSUIPC reported the fuel on gallons I simply pickup DF 734 do some math and found the relation between Gallons and kg. Strange enought for PSS this relation didn't work so I had to use the FSUIPC relation between Gallons and LBs and them convert to Kg. Something was wrong in my thinking when I thought that the relation between volume and weight (density) was constant admiting that fuel is not comprensable, but maybe the fuel volatibility means that this relation is not constant for all planes.Jos

Fueldensity does varry with altitude (and temperature), though I don't know for certain if FS models this (probably not or not fully as it isn't a great deal).
