PSS747 Speed hold

How do I get the MCP to hold the speed?...I have 50% fuel left in all engines,have my MACH speed set to .850, but the speed continues to drop to the maxium IAS speed of 399..I tried using VNAV, but that just causes me to loose more speed and go into an immediate stall...It appears that I have to use my throttle to fly the airplane..I do have the latest version of FSUIPC installed..If there is somethng I'm suppose to do in there,can someone please explain?ThanksTroy

"the speed continues to drop to the maxium IAS speed of 399"If this is truly the case, you are going waaaaaaaaaaaay too fast for the altitude you are at. Max airspeed for the PSS 747 is around 340kts IAS or Mach 0.87, WHICHEVER PEAKS FIRST. ie. below about FL300, you will be IAS limited, whereas above you will be Mach limited. The figures I have quoted are not exact, but should give you the basic idea.How high were you actually flying?Gary

Hi, make sure you have "display indicated airspeed" enabled in realism options as opposed to "display true airspeed".Best Regards, Uwe

I'm usually cruising between FL350-370, and still can't get passed 399 IAS or cruise at .850..As a matter of fact I can't even cruise at Mach .70...Nothing works.At half of empty tank,(and in most cases, it doesn't matter how much fuel, i.e..I could be near empty) looks like my 747 is struggling to maintain its altitude. My nose seems to point about 5-10 degrees above the HSI the entire flight..This bothers me...I took a flight a couple days ago from Eddf-Ksfo, a flight that should have taken about 10 hours (a guesstimate), but at the above IAS speed, this would have taken me closer to 12.5 hours ..I've spent years flying back and fourth to Europe from the US and I know this time is ridiculous...Thanks for your input guys...UWE, I'll try what you suggested and see what happens...LaterTroy
