I prefer the 421 simply because it gives you more flexibility for setting up the instrument subpanels. It's the plane I used to design my home cockpit, so I'm biased. I like being able to move the engine instruments and radios to a second monitor. The Seneca has them forever attached to the main 2D panel. Eventually I'll figure out how to use FS Panel Studio and make the panels the way I want them. Also, at some point the FSGarmin units will replace the 530 in the C421 and the radio stack in the Seneca. Then we will be getting somewhere! Still, the Seneca is dirt cheap in my book, so I wouldn't hesitate to get both.David

IMHO, The C421 is a better one VC-wise. The VC in the Seneca is good, but kinda squared... I dunno. Ir hasn't grown on me. If you told me I have to give one back for a refund, I'd give back the Seneca... Even tho it's cheaper, the 421 is a crisper plane. Again, just my opinion. Any of the 2 is great tho. :)Cheers,http://www.simubuild.com/gfx/banner/SBB_Pimentel.jpgAA RULES!!! :)Download my semi-photoreal AA 757!:http://ftp.avsim.com/library/sendfile.php?DownloadID=16882Aerolineas Argentinas A330-200 NOW AVAILABLE!!http://www.thevivcorp.com/~fyarepaints/MyR.../posky332ar.zipChrome AA 767 NOW AVAILABLE!!http://www.thevivcorp.com/~fyarepaints/MyR...osky767aaV1.zipDominicana de Aviacion 727-53C NOW AVAILABLE!!http://www.thevivcorp.com/~fyarepaints/MyRepaints/dom722.zip______________________________"Whenever you find yourself in the side of the majority it's time to pause and reflect" - Mark Twain

Bob, I have both and am a bit partial to the Seneca because I was fortunate to be a Beta tester for her. If you really can only have one then you will have to ultimately decide but you should go here:http://www.simforums.com/forums/display_fo...s.asp?ForumID=2To read feedback from C421 customers. Then go here:http://www.fsd-international.com/To read feedback from Seneca customers.Like I said before only you can make the decision. Hope this helps you make an informed decision. Either way you are in for a lot of fun and probably learning along the way. Good Luck!http://www.ktone.org/images/FSD_ken.jpg

You should persuade your wife and get both. Another 16 bucks you get both. What is $16?! :)I have both and they are the best you can get out there. Each one has its own characteristic and the C421 serves my needs better. But, despite the SV has been released 3 days ago, it already has new features to be added in the near future. Really cool features! ;)

>You should persuade your wife and get both. Or better yet divorce ! I would have a real problem with a wife that I had to clear with every $25 I wanted to spend on a flight sim. *:-* Michael J.

I LOVE the 421, but can't fly it much as the frame rates are painful on my machine... sometimes dropping below 5 fps on approach... making it unflyable. I have a 1.0G P3. That's a lot of money for a "maybe" so unless you are faster than that I wouldn't bother. Too bad I can't sell mine. :)But other than that it is incredible!Eddie

> I admit I have a tough time purchasing any >payware aircraft, but once you get above $20.00, I bail, no >matter how good it is! Funny, if Flight1 had priced the >C421 more reasonably (below $20.00), I'd have bought it (and >I bet there are many more out there like me). As for $35.00 >for a Piper Meridian - FORGET IT!!! Come on folks - it's >ONE add-on plane (and I don't care how good it is). OH,oh, bad rule...............:)There are a few I'd pay more than $20.00 for. Example is the SF260, which is the best "fun" I've ever had within the confines of FS2002. I don't really download much of any freeware anymore, as I prefer packages with all the goodies! I do have both the 421 & Seneca, as I love twins.L.Adamson

I found both enjoyable, however I am a little partial to the 421. Both are kind of taxing to systems. I have experiance lock ups in both aircraft while changing views. Still can't figure out why!! (See Specs below) If I had to go with one or the other I would go with the 421. In addition to the other posts comments, it also has the better virtual cockpit if that is something you enjoy. Don't get me wrong, I do like the seneca! In fact I also have FSD's Super Cub and really love that airplane. I for one have not had issue with their customer service. They have been quick to answer emails and seem to do what they can to help their customers. People need to realize that they can not program each plane to fit everyones specific computer. If you like high performance singles you may want to wait for the new Meridian by I believe Flight 1. It really looks to great. Good Luck,ScottAthlon 1.2512 sdramRadeon 8500 128 megsWin ME

My vote also goes to the 421. I have been flying it constantly since it came out and have had a lot of fun.I have 4 monitors on 1 PC and have all the panels etc spread over the 4 monitors. It works a treat.

Hello Friends ... and thanks for all the good advice (I think I will pass on the divorce idea, as that would cost well beyond that of the two planes; but, as you may know Michal, with wives, these "limitations" are rarely about money). From the "reviews" here, my choice is the "C-421", which I will purchase in the next few hours.I hope My System can handle it: - P4-1.8A - GF3/200Ti - WinXP Pro - 1 GHz SDRAM - SB-Live!Thanks again!
