can someone tell me what a stickshaker is?

A device connected to the flight yoke that physically warns the pilot of an impending stall.Gives aem a darn good shakeup I would imagine - more so pre-computer controlled flight no doubt.

gues most boing and the A300 and A310 have them,but I think the newer Airbusses (A319/A320/A321/A330/A340) don't as they have joysticks instead of yokes
