Multiple Monitor Setup

Hi all,I did a search for this can't seem to find a direct answer to this question.If one has an AGP video card (i.e. Geforce) and a PCI video card (i.e. ATI Radeon PCI), running Windows XPPro how is multiple monitors handled. Is one running MSFS2k2 in full screen mode? where saaaay, monitor 2 (on the PCI card) is showing a side view of the aircraft and monitor 1 (on the AGP card) is showing the standard cockpit view? Or do you have to run in windowed mode for everything and have a bunch of windows that you manually place on an expanded desktop?-ChanThanks all.

I short, no. Running one monitor with a panel view and one with a side view would bring FS2k2 to a crawl, even with the fastest machines out on the market (when I mean a crawl, I'm talking like 1-2FPS.) People use muiltiple monitors to drag panel windows (FMC, throttle quadrant, etc.) to their second monitor. Thanks for the reponse-- that was pretty clear. Just to get clarification, though. Since we would not be running multiple views on the two monitors, instead, opting to move panels to the 2nd monitor, does the 1st monitor run in full screen mode? Or do we need to run in windowed mode to accomplish what you were mentioning?-Chan

Howdy Chan,You can do either. One may run in window mode or full screen mode with your other windows on moniter 2, whichever you prefer. The number 2 monitor will of course not be in full screen.

It can run in Full Screen or window mode, it's your choice.Here I have 2 monitors in FS2002, I didn't get excellent result with more than 2 monitors, I started to get some performance drop, I think from processor side and micro stutters. It's ok to fly in this way, but I preferred to move my PCI cards to a second computer and run magenta...Anyway, winXP handles very well multiple monitors and you won't have problem at all.Ulisses
