Has anybody been crazy enough to try this?

I'm talking about trying to run MSFS under a Linux Windows compatible OS. Recently read a review of one of the Linux based product (can't remember the name... "X something) which allowed smooth operation of softwares like MSOffice. I can't imagine that anybody would open that can of worms... but maybe somebody was desperate enough to try it.

I think you are talking about wine, which is a windows emulator for Linux. You're right, it probably is crazy, but give it a try, and if you get it to work, be sure to write an article telling us how you did it.Good luck!

One, there's no way I'm gonna try this at this time! AMD + Linux + MS + 2K2 sounds like the recipe for C4. It would take wiz talents that I sure don't have. Two, the product in question was more recent, and, the review went, much better than Linux.

Lindows is a customized version of Linux with heavy Wine support built in. I'm not sure what program you're talking about shrink, but it sounds interesting. However, I'd fall out of my chair in astonishment if any Linux Windows emulator could run Flight Simulator. Of course, there's always Flight Gear, the open source flight simulator that does run on Linux.
