Jerk? Twitch? Stutter?

Recommended Posts

Whatever, it's driving me up the wall. I have a reasonable outfit - Athlon 1.8, 512 RAM, goldplated Geforce 4600, frames locked at 20 - but in spot view, the aircraft often appear to progress in jerks. With the earth out of sight, they're fine, so it has to be the scenery. Does anyone have a simple tweak for a simple fsimmer?

Hi, Hablot. I suggest that you temporarily set all values under Display Options in FS2002 to their Default values except the resolution. Hit OK, fly a bit and see if the problem is reduced. You can set them back to the values you want, preferably one by one to see the impact. On my machine, I do this often, as it seems to help make the visuals clearer. Don't ask me why :)

Anything goes with the tweaking stuff and as you know. What works on one machine may not work on another. What I found worked and improved the stutterin somewhat, I did the following.Using Riva tuner on the VSync tab, set the pre-render limit to 1 (one). I believe the default is 3. In addition set the VSync to Always off. If I go to 2 or 3 the jerkiness increases. BobG

Hi,On my 1Mhz system with a 32mb Nvidia Gts2, I have a major stutter (hiccup), -- especially visible in "spot plane" mode --, when Konotop is installed, at each turn of his airfield radar, but only when the dynamic scenery (airplanes and cars) are active. When these are not displayed the radar turns very fluently (strange isn't it ?), also when I disable Konotop everything returns to a smooth display.hm
