Gavin Hendrie review: Lyon Saint-Expury

Recommended Posts

Every reviewer has a right to express an opinion, and I am sure Gavin Hendrie has his own valid reasons for not being too impressed with the Simudesigns scenery for Lyon, however, when he refers to the add-on module requiring FSUIPC, I take exception to use of the phrase "This module requires a free version of Pete Dowson

Graeme,Thanks for taking the time out to read the review and particularly for pointing out such a gross error on my part. It has already been pointed out to myself and the editor and amended accordingly. As I said to the individual who pointed it out, his observation was very valuable, or should that have been invaluable! Thanks again, I hope my credibility is still intact!! I don't think Gavin had any malicious intent here as this word is often misunderstood in the English speaking world. Yes it does mean "having a reputation of the worst kind" or "disgraceful", many misuse it believing it has a more positive meaning (at least I hope that was his intent since I agree that FSUIPC is a GREAT program). While we all make mistakes in the spelling of our language, I often see words misused here in the forums. For example, 'hear' instead of 'here', 'there' where it should be 'their' as well as sentences(?) that are completly unintelligible. I do however give leeway to those posters whose 1st language is not English since I know the difficulty in learning a foriegn language. And let's face it, English is strange in many ways.Jim

I've corrected "infamous" to read "famous", as I have to admit that I too have used this word in the wrong context.

The word "infamy" is certainly open to misuse...."Infamy!...............Infamy!..........................They've all got it in for me!"Julius Caesar, trying to escape his assassins, in "Carry on Cleo" (1964). http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057918/
