Recommended Posts

Guest

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to use the PSS747 Overhead Panel(that containing the APU/Engine Starters etc) on another third party panel. I have tried repeatedly but without success. Any ideas andhow does one go about it. I`ve tried the usual methods. I particularlywish to use it with the Meljet 747 but with an Alitalia Panel. Canit be done please??Yours and thanksJohn

Hi John, you'll have great difficulty trying to split various parts of the PSS panel, so I suggest you use the whole thing. BTW, what is an 'Alitalia panel'? As far as I know, Boeing makes the planes and supplies them with the panel - and with the 747-400, the individual airline options for panel configuration are severely limited compared to the 747-200 or 767. PSS supplies the panel options for all engine types, P&W, GE and RR, so you should be able to configure it properly for the engine type Alitalia uses.Cheers,Gosta.

Like Gosta said, you'll get huge problems. I have no doubt the single parts of the PSS panel like main panel, overhead panel, pedestal etc. work together. You don't know where panel-specific variables are beeing initialised, maybe on the main panel. I would not try it. Consider using the whole panel.Good luck! :-)Etienne

Just to reinforce that .. Etienne is quite correct.. All individual parts of PSS Panels rely heavily on the rest.. there is No way to use "seperate gauges" in another panel because of this interaction. You must use the Complete Panel folder from PSS if you are to attempt use with a 3rd partu aircraft and even this will not guarantee success as the panel is designed to work with the PSS Aircraft
