September 14, 200421 yr I recently upgraded to an XP 3000+ system and afterwards noticed that the new puter does not have a gameport. I had been using my USB CH yoke along with my analog pedals on my old rig. Is there a way I can set my pedals to work through the 25 pin printer port? Or maybe the 9 pin parallel port? How about a gemport to USB adaptor? In this case are my pedals recognized as a USB device? Sorry for the trouble.Mauricio
September 14, 200421 yr I'm using a gameport/USB adapter. It's recognized as a 4 button 4 axis joystick. But it calibrates in Windows XP and in (registered) FSUIPC. I have no problems with mine other than some versions of FSUIPC seem to calibrate more accurately than others... Rick
September 15, 200421 yr Thanks Rick,I understand you have a gameport yoke connected through the adapter to a USB port. In my case I am trying to connect my gameport CH pedals. My Yoke is USB. Maybe somebody has done this gameport/USB adaption on the pedals and wants to share their thoughts with us?Thanks again,Mauricio
September 15, 200421 yr I don't know if it's the best solution but you could install a PCI gameport card. You might find some useful info here http://home.att.net/~stickworks/ or at the CHPruducts site.David

And Windows does indeed recognize the pedals as a 4 axis 4 button joystick. Perhaps I was not clear? I was relating to you my personal experience on this matter... Rick
September 17, 200421 yr Oh, Ok Rick. Sorry I didn't get you the first time. I've been looking around for those gameport/USB adaptors and they come at a pretty hefty price at least in my whereabouts. I was thinking maybe I could get one of those "elcheapo" sound cards that come with a gameport and plug it into a PCI slot? I can't find any PCI gameports in stores. Thanks again guys.Mauricio
September 21, 200421 yr Sorry to bring this back up. I ended up buying a C-Media 4 channel PCI sound card with a gameport and now am struggling to solve some I/O address issues (the I/O range used by the PCI card is not available). Fact is my onboard nVidia 6 channel sound chip beats this PCI card's sound in every aspect. However to get the gameport to work I have to disable onboard sound and go with the 4 channel C-media sound supplied by the PCI card. Would changing over to the lesser PCI sound card improve my framerates? I would be willing to cope with the cheaper sound if this is so.
