Digital Monitor vs. Analoge

Featured Replies

I'm contemplating the purchase of an LCD monitor with digital input. Would I see any difference in FS9 graphics if I did so ? Any help with specs would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Craig

If you have a graphics card with a DVI connector then by all means go digital. (video card basically controls the monitor in this situation). Is digital connection prefered? - I tend to think so. Generaly better colour saturation and overall improved monitor performance including less chance of ghosting. Many of the "digital" capable LCD's on the market also support regular analog D-SUB connection. So really with the right monitor, you could easily try both and choose which you like best.Cheers.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg

Thanks, And yes; my card has dual digital outputs. Nvidia 6600 GT PCIe.

Get either the Viewsonic VX924 or VX922. Both sub 5ms response times, and great picture. I just got the 924. I replaces a Viewsonic G790 19" CRT. The picture is great. Although, if you are somehow expecting the picture to blow away a CRT, you are going to be utterly disappointed. I wanted the desk space, reading text is clearer on an LCD, other than that, CRTs still offer better graphics overall.
