All potential CS customers should read the following...

I'm speechless (but not quite :). Unbelievable.

Mark,Before you open the pandora's box full of hateful and rude comments that has become the CS forum here, I suggest everyone keep in mind that Alex at CS is one of only a small handful of clearly dedicated programmers out there offering high-end, well considered addons for FS2K2. He might well be a better programmer than he is a businessman and clearly he overextended himself on the release date but the fact is, the technical release (aka Beta version) is still pretty cool and it will keep me busy until Alex finishes the beast. I don't see too many of us here standing in line for the kind of flogging we inflict on those trying to improve our hobby. It pains me to think of some of the great talents that were crucified in this forum (and elsewhere) and have now gone on to a kinder gentler world (Eric Ernst comes to mind). I'm not saying payware should be immune to criticism (in fact, the reviews here, official or otherwise, are what keep me coming back day after day). If you don't like a product or the service you've gotten from a company - we need to know that. But the personal assault on Alex and CS that I've seen in that forum signal this hobby's darkest hour IMO.David

It's even getting uglier over there... My GOD! Captain Sim really needs to shut their mouth, they are losing a bunch of customers fast the way they are talking to people.I was angry at first as well, do to the lack of communication on their part, but have laid off and am not waiting the finished product, but I sure am amazed at the stuff coming out of CS's mouth.

Well, it doesn't help when the companies start retaliating but we have to remember that these projects are often their labors of love (labor of loves?) and our criticism must seem like personal affronts too.David

Captainsim; I'm not sure what all the ruckus is about; but I'm with you. Take you time and make us a great 727. I plan on buying it. I got your L39Z and I love it. Keep up the great work.

Sorry David, but I have to respectfully disagree with you. It may well be a labour of love (it must be,) but the rules change when someone starts charging money for their goods and services. I want to see the quality of our addons rise higher and higher, and for this we need talented people like those at Captain Sim, but you can't go around threatening paying customers with stuff like "right, if you cancel your order we'll NEVER sell you anything again!"If Captain Sim or anyone else were giving the stuff out for free, I'd be first in line to defend them against criticism. But they're not - they want money for their work, and to me there is a principle at stake here.
