DVD Won't Eject

Recommended Posts

Guest Lomag

I'm having a problem with my DVD drives. It seems like a couple minutes after I put a DVD in, the drive refuses to open. As you can imagine, this has become a huge problem when trying to install the 2-DVD FSX. I've tried going to My Computer and clicking the eject button, but that doesn't work. I've tried using a pin to manually open it, but if I put in another disk, it won't read it and then won't open up on that one either. The only way to get them to open is to restart. I don't understand what is wrong with them. Thanks

Okay, I'll get the ball rolling anyway :-)Are they being seen by Windows ? Are they listed in your device manager ?Are they listed in your boot up sequence ?Did you just install these two DVD drives ?

Do you have more than one DVD drive on the PC?Assuming it's an IDE/ATAPI DVD drive, is it on the same cable as another device (i.e. another DVD, a CD-ROM, or an IDE hard disk)? If so, you have to make sure that only one device is set to be master on that cable, and the other is set to be a slave...that's done with jumpers on the back of the drives. If the DVD drive shares a cable, if possible put it on its own cable on the secondary IDE channel. RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile
