Hi, i wanna ask you guys if active shy is a good program to get,is the weather better with this program..???Thx,,pls help me?

The weather is good with ActiveSky, but the main benefit is that it constantly updates the weather while you fly, downloading the latest conditions from the Web. It also has some nice features for doing things like locking the weather conditions within a certain distance from your final destination so that you don't get sudden changes while on final approach. Version 1.5 is freeware, so you have nothing to lose by trying it out.

Well... I don't know... I fly mostly in Europe out of LSGG and it works just fine.

Part of message #106 in our Group at Yahoo:2 - The flights with 1.5 indicate errors on aloft (North Atlantic, South Europe) strength but the direction usually it's ok. BTW comparing your results with FSMeteo and the 6 hours forecast charts, both have differences so my fuel planning is somewhat by feeling and that leads to,Suggestion: some way of knowing what will be the Aloft prediction given by ActiveSky for a route.http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/Us...941191779df.jpg

Well, unless you fly a real aircraft over the real North Atlantic you won't get ACCURATE winds. The best you can get is *predicted* winds which are not necessarily are ACCURATE - there was another post on the subject on this forum. I frankly don't care for predicted winds = simulated winds but you have right to disagree with it.I am not sure if Active Sky will feature such *predicted* winds - ask Damian on ActiveSky forum. Hi,International winds aloft forecasts are not used in wxRE yet. This is planned in an update sometime late January.Currently wxRE uses simulation logic to generate winds aloft when more than 500nm away from a reporting US FD station. This is based on METAR data of winds at the surface and is computed based on many conditional and random factors beyond that.The only real "drawback" to using simulation outside US is that you will not necessarily experience winds exactly as forecasted... which as Michael J. explains, and I agree, is not exactly realistic anyways. The future world-wide winds aloft will include random and condition influences from METAR information to make things less predictable.
