Please read...FS2004 helicopter suggestions

Recommended Posts

Hey I'm sure many of you have heard about the MSFS insider page. Plus the email address Tell_FS@microsoft.com where we can email our thoughts and suggestion for future versions. The only way we are going to have a major over haul of the helicopter in FS2004 or any new version is making ourselves well known. I want everyone here to email MS with helicopter related issues. When MS sees the large amount of helicopter issues they will put more time into it. Remember how on the other sim sites and forums everybody wanted ATC and other planes with them in the sky and a 747. Well thats what was put in, its still early enough to put large scale ideas in. Also any one here can post some suggestions of their own. I have a long list but simply put,...Proper startup and shutsdowns, trim, autopilot(capability for other birds)ability for true twin engined heli's. And then the big wish is for of course a BK117 to be added. Or a dalphin or S76. Something twin and advanced. Thanks for your imput. Don't forget to email MS!!!!!!!!!!!Hit them a couple times a week.

i suggest bell 412,430 or 427.i find eurocopter EC-155 and Cougar interestng too.the only think that metters it is taht it has 2 engines, and LCD displays for engines, cause im tierd of looking at helicopters witch would have(in real life) displays for enginse, but designers of helos give them default B-206 engine gauges:(but i see that its getting better since FS2002 is out:)

Lifeflight,Without wishing to dilute your enthusiasm... and with utmost regard to your commitment to 'FS' by suggesting that we make suggestions to Microsoft... Perhaps the process of software development is new to you and (with respect) does not happen how (most gamers) think it should.....Simply put, software development is split into a development team which includes many sub-groups.. for example one group will concentrate on flight modelling, while another concentrates on graphics and another on code etc etc..Offering suggestions (for example) "A BK117 should be included in the next release of FS" would simply fall on 'deaf-ears' mostly because the development team would not understand your request.... I would be happy to go into more detail at another time....Microsoft development teams rarely include veteran SIMMERS mostly the would consist of 'specialist programmers' in specific disciplines!I hope this make sense?:)

Hahahahaha, yes even Im actually laughing at myself when i read my post AFTER sleeping. But of course remember its one of those things that are "what have you got to lose" deals (no pride jokes here). Im pretty familar with software development, been in and out of it here and there, nothing worth while, but this truely was a "wishlist" in the the deepest sense. Of course they are not going to have any big care for someone requesting their favorite bird, in my case a BK117, but its worth throwing the 2cents in, or in my case apparently one 1 cent :) I think everyone here probably wouldn't mind eventually trim and the capability of true 2 engine turbine opts, some turbine startups. I personally love FS2002, had 98 and 2000. The helicopter model is pretty good in 2002 for the Jetranger. No complaints, merely intense wishes which i think most of can wish and think about before we come to our senses and realize ourwishes require an intense amount of work, that of which is much needed elsewhere in the future FS versions. I think you can imagine i was joking at the everyone emailing MS everyday, yes i have a job too, 2 actually. I was just trying to stir up the ranks a little bit. 2002 is just an excellant sim, with the new GMax tools we can hope to see great leaps in addons, you have all probably at least seen the new MD500 made in Gmax, great bird. Well im done ranting, trying to clear the name abit and i'll make sure next time i post again i have some sleep and commom sense under my belt. Goodnight and and happy flying.Brent

Brent,LOL... I think they should inlude the BK117 also :) its a very stable helo in the same class as the Aloutte....I find the flight dynamics on the Jetranger really suck...I think the c of g is incorretly modelled, but I dont have time to go in and fix it!There is however a really accurate Bell 205 available as a d/l from simviation.... also try the Kiowa from the same site :) I would really like to separate the throttle and collective in my software...in the Jetranger Panel, if you are fast enough on the Mouse AND Throttle, you can approach something resembling controls-realism!But back to MS... unless they feel that there is enough demand for a Helio Sim, then we will always sit behind the big-iron 'heavies' following...Happy Flying (maybe we can fly online sometime? I am EST)Terry:-rotor

My modem is slow for any kind of multiplayer, i am EST as well, Worcester, MA for a good spot of where i am. That would be cool to sperate the controls, i remember at one time i had a suncom throttle which can operate each engine i just reverse it and used it as a collective, but seperating would be nice. Though low on the priority list of MS in general, even i can see that reasoning. Im always willing to wait. Think about it the fixed wing craft, especially the cessna's have been through like 11 revisions, the chopper only three. I love the sim as it is, no patch needed. Works well on lower end systems, with the looks of CFS3 we can expect to see its technology in FS of course. Things are looking great if you ask me. Of course we all have those stupid thought when we are flying around, hmmmmmmmm MS could add accident scenes and hospitals all around the world. With little men running around. HAHA, im realism with lots of optimism. Can't go wrong there. :) BK is my favorite, got an A4 model up here for UMass Lifeflight in Worcester, nice paint. I did a paint of it, look around its on gaylen's site and sunclaro, somehow it ended up on sunclaro, i never uploaded it there, but hey i don't care. :)Brent
