autopilot?hmm, have to ask...a 'copter can't have autopilot for real, can it?! (must be impossible!)but you can tweak it in flight sim then, I guess, right?I have thought of that myself, for example give a 'copter an air-file from a fixed ving, put in gauges for autopilot, and there you have it...//Leif "Still_Hovering" Almberg

Helos ( High end ones do have an autopilt - much like a fixed wing - but has the advantage of a HOVER HOLD MODERichard GreenVATUSA4Events and VA Director

Hi Terry,A few years back, while in South Africa, I was in an AS 365 N2 (Dauphin) practicing ILS approaches into Lanseria airport, north of Johannesburg. I can only tell you that it was great fun and that the sophistication of autopilots in rotary-winged aircraft is something else. There's nothing quite like flying an ILS approach in a helicopter, totally hands-off and then coming to a hover above the runway.;-)Jerome

It comes in rather handy when you've just flown fo 1.5hrs to an offshore platform in Pi$$y weather and you feel like you're arms going to fall off!!!
