Help on Mesh & landclass, is there a way to install these scenerys.I put them in scenery addons whent to that area and it covered up the default area with blank tiles like the old fs4 scenery, Tried putting them in to there own scenery file called mesh and at different levels but they still covered the default scenery, some of the buildings would stick out but the scenery would be flat and green, black or light green, Thanks for any help

The problem you see is due to the landclass files, not to the mesh. The landclass files, if not installed directly in FS2002scenery, need textures to place on the grid. If you want to install the landclass scenery to a different location (either to have different texture sets than default, e.g. FScene Europe, or to be able to enable/disable to suit your needs) you have to have a texture folder in that directory. An example: If you downloaded some mesh and landclass files for Yosemite National Park (available at FSFreeware) create a folder ...FS2002ADDON SCENERYYOSEMITE Add a scenery and texture folder to that directory. Copy all *.bgl files to the scenery folder, and the texture files from ...FS2002SCENEDBWORLDTEXTURE to the texture folder. Now add it to the scenery library and you are finished. If you have replacement textures like FScene, you can use them either in your new scenery layer (I did it this way with my Europe landclass and FScene textures) or in the ...FS2002SCENEDBWORLDTEXTURE folder.Mesh files can be placed either directly in the FS2002SCENERY folder or in ADDON SCENERYSCENERY (without having to add them to the library) or in any other location (then you have to add them, but will be able to enable/disable them).Hope it helps, Uwe

Hi Terry,Generally, put the terrain files inscenedbworldsceneryand the landclass files insceneryYou can put them in a custom location, but if you do so you'll have to add them to the Scenery Library or they won't display. As well, if you put the landclass files in their own folder, make sure to create ONLY a scenery subfolder==no texture folder or they wont work.Hope this helps. Further questions, just ask.Justinhttp://www.fsgenesis.com

Thanks for the help Uwe I put all the mesh files in the world scenery file and the landclass in the scenery files and it seams to work fine, but I must have some texture files or scenery file missing for the area just north of KORD in Chicago, about 150x100 mile area that is just tiles and no scenery. Have reinstalled the Chicago area from the FS scenery disk but no good. Have checked the scenery forum for any file with Chicago or Illinois in them but nada. Have diabled any scenery area that might have something to do with that area but have not found anything thing. Any sugestions. Hocky, Texas Air Aces,Houston TX
