January 21, 200422 yr Hi, I am looking for a typical (real world) flight plan from the U.S. to South-East Asia along one of the new Polar Tracks bypassing the North Pole. That would be the airways e.g. Polar2/G490 or Polar2/B480, Polar3/G491 or Polar4/G494 (where G490-G494 are the airway names in Russian airspace).Typical route pairs would be KJFK-ZBAA, KJFK-VHHH, KORD-ZBAA or KORD-VTBD. (Note that one FP would be sufficient.)In particular I would be interested in how those flights are routed through Canadian airspace, that is, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Montreal FIR. I understand that for these FIRs, "daily flexible tracks" are available? Does that mean that the daily flex tracks are published someplace, or do random routes apply, choosen by the operator, in Candian airspace. Information on the daily flex tracks would also be much appreciated! (The NOTAMs for e.g. Edmonton FIR provide no clue, unlike the Oakland Oceanic FIR NOTAMs on Pacific Tracks do.) ... btw, I have sufficient information to plan the flight through Russian and Chinese airspace; however I don't quite understand the Canadian part... :-hmmmThanks for any help, Markus Best regards, Markus Vitzethum ("ps1flyer")
January 21, 200422 yr Hi Markus,Operators file random routes in Canadian airspace. For example, the only route I know for KJFK-ZBAA, flown by a B744, is GREKI3 GREKI DCT JUDDS DCT MARTN DCT ALB J563 YSC DCT 50N075W 55N076W 60N078W 65N080W 70N083W 75N089W 80N101W 8420N14100W DCT RAMEL G491 SULOK G218 TMR B458 ZN A596 KM KM1A. That one was filed the last 25 times KJFK-ZBAA was operated and I've never seen an other one.For KORD-ZBAA there are more routes, but all of them are either random routes, or filed via the northern Pacific (airway G212), for a B772. Here are two examples: DCT PETTY DCT GRB DCT 50N088W 55N088W 60N088W 65N090W 70N093W 75N098W 80N110W 84N141W DCT RAMEL G491 SULOK G218 TMR B458 ZN A596 KM DCT OB DCT and DCT PETTY DCT GRB DCT 55N090W 60N092W 65N096W 70N103W 75N119W 78N141W DCT ORVIT G494 UESO G495 KU G496 BORAN B161 SULOK G218 TMR B458 ZN A596 KM DCT OB DCT.Hope that answers your question... :)Cheers,http://home.planet.nl/~duijn181/cu2/koen.jpg
