Reverse Thrust?

Recommended Posts

Guest Maul

Hello all,I know some are reluctant to explain this, but I'm trying to do some powerbacks in the DC-9. Anyone have tips on getting reverse thrust to work right? I have fsuipc, is there a certain setting I need to set it to? Thanks in advanceMaulWho Wants To Fly The Big Jets In & Out Of Chicago O'Hare...I DO! :-wave

If you want to use the reverse thrust to backup instead of the regular pushback keys, you can make a change in the airfile. I remember reading that in a thread a while back either here or over at flightsim, can't remember which. If you locate the firefox, you could look at the setting in that airfile because that one backs up down the runway with reverse thrusters.

It's also in the CFG. Seek "reverse beta thrust" and increase the minus number. 2ndly, you have to be on ground, at idle, and then hit F2 and hold it.

There's a config entry for prop reverse thrust called "minimum_reverse_beta", but no entry called "reverse_beta_thrust". Record #313 in the .air file controls reverse thrust percentage, but you have to release reverse thrust slowly, as the engines will otherwise stayed spooled up and jerk the aircraft forward.-John

Hello All,Thanks for the help guys. However, I have a question for John. How do I read the AIR file without getting all that messed up text. I'm currently using the Worpad to do it, and I can't read it at all. Are you talking about the CFG file? Help would be appreciated, thanks.MaulWho Wants To Fly The Big Jets In & Out Of Chicago O'Hare...I DO! :-wave
