Want bad, cold windy weather?

Mount Hampshire has got it! ICAO code is KMWN, and the weather there is often extremely cold and windy. No airport there, so no practicing autolands. ;-) Latest METAR right now is: KMWN 040053Z 32065G73KT 1/16SM BLSN FZFG VV000 M24/M24 RMK VRY LGT ICGWouldn't want to fly in that, that's for sure!Cheers,

Roger that!yesterday morning, I fired up FS2k2, downloaded real weather for KSYR, (Syracuse, NY) and flew a morning flight to Rochester, a distance of 76nm. A typical flight sorting out the new CS 727-100. By the time I got down through the clouds in Rochester, I didn't see the runway until the tires chirped. I'll tell you, having been a real world pilot for many years, the weather and conditions were really bad. I don't think I would have enjoyed the 'real' flight. But, as a real pilot, I followed procedures, played it by the numbers and flew by the needles and, right where it was suppose to be, was the runway, where God intended it to be.Best to all,Clayton T. And I thought Northern Indiana weather was bad sometimes........jeez LOL. If I remember METAR 101, wind is blowing at 320 at 65mph and gusts 73?? Thats a little too rough for me LOL. BRRRRRRRR -24C!! Bit too cold too! LOL

I live only 65 miles from Mt.Washington. At only alittle over 6200' most people would say that it's hardly a hill (westerners usually). Two men were killed Friday in an avalanche on the mountain. It's one of the most dangerous mountains in the U.S. The highest recorded wind speed in the WORLD was recorded there at 236mph. Wonder what the wind chill was? Yeasterday, the paper wrote that more people have been killed on Mt. Washington than any mountain in North America Semper Fi,Jim Golden, GySgt, USMC (Ret.)

If I slew to a spot on the ground anywhere where I can face into the wind in a C152 I could practice my VTOL ! :DI read an article about a guy in a Piper Cub who ended up flying backwards in a stronger than expected wind until he dropped down to tree top level and was able to make headway :D. The trip back was a little slower ;)
