Sound Acceleration

Recommended Posts

Guest kilo_sierra17

If I adjust the acceleration of my sound card, will it affect how stuff sounds? It was on full but I was getting a crackling noise in my games, so I turned it down, but now I am wondering if it will affect the quality of the sound, like if MP3's will still sound the same.

On an older computer I gave to my son, I set the sound acceleration to minimum and heard no difference in the sound. I was also using some very expensive quality speakers. You might experience something completly different. It will not harm anything to try the extremes and see what the sounds are like. If you can't hear a difference then set it where you get the most benefit.
