A good Gulfstream IV panel?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know where I can find a good Gulfstream IV panel? Or does anyone know someone that is making one?I downloaded a awsome GMAX Gulfstream IV plane for FS2002 (not the navy version, but a civilian version made by Rick) and I didnt like the panel that came with the plane, so I replaced it with a Gulfstream V panel. The problem using the Gulfstream V panel is that the fuel readings aren't accurate cause the Gulfstream V holds more fuel that the Gulfstream IV (the GV panel has a extra fuel gauge)

Don't think there is one, Joseph, or if there is I certainly haven't found it. The bitmap Rick based his latest G IV on is from an old FS98 panel that is now looking a bit dated and, you're right, the 'plane would be enhanced by a custom built panel blending nicely with the VC if there are any gurus out there willing to give it a try. I'd give it a whirl myself but I have another project eating up time just now and, in any case, I'm no G IV expert. I'm sure whoever gives it a go will not find their effort wasted; there'll be a few juicy repaints of Rick's civilian aircraft ...Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontEDIT: Out of interest, which G V panel do you have? The one that shipped with the OMC update?http://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/reds.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

I too, wish that a better panel, that blended with the VC was available. I have been using a good Lear panel, but it takes away from the VC panel view.It is a sweet BizJet! Thanks Rick!If you don't have it yet, go check it out! It's in the libraryMichaelhttp://www.geocities.com/res052cd/cmhbanner.gif

I understand this freeware, but I downloaded this plane today and immediatly put it in the trash bin. There is no detail on this plane. It looks like a FS98 aircraft.

I notice that at cruise, the nose points 10 degrees upward. What change should I make in the cfg file to correct that?

Hey Lando, I have an idea. Open a graphics program, paint up the aircraft with all the detail you desire, and then share it with us when you've admired your own work. Who knows, if it's good enough, maybe Rick would give you permission to upload it.Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontEDIT: I see you've had the paintbrush out already, Michael!http://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/reds.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

Lando,Ever since you joined Avsim on Oct 26, I have seen nothing but negative coments from you throughout these forums. I think your only purpose is to try to start arguements by flaming one thing or another. I can only hope Scott keeps an eye on you.

Is that right B777???? Perhaps you chose to only single out comments you "believe" to be "negative." Are you saying I have no right to state my opinion of a certain plane? Are you saying we should be censored unless we only say "Wow, what a plane!!"Get real dude! How negative are these posts Mr. Forum Daddy.[link:http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/DCForumID47/14045.html|Crazy Taxi][link:http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/DCForumID47/14046.html]Screen Shot Sharpness?Yep B777 you're right, all my posts are negative!

I think what people are trying to politely point out, Lance, is that it's nice when people say good things about each other and each other's work; but if you don't like something, perhaps it's better to keep your opinions to yourself. That, surely, is simple courtesy. In other words, bin things if you wish to, but realise that nobody cares a damn what's on your particular hard drive and all you or others do by stating "I don't like this, I don't like that" is upset the designer and others. For what? You add nothing to the thread except antagonism. "Stating opinions" is fine if thoughts are constructive and useful; but when they are one or two liners that include words like "trash", well then nobody wins, right? You should have another look at that GIV, by the way. It includes a couple of goodies that I don't recall in FS98. It's a simple paintjob, sure, but blame me for that; I am quite sure Rick will welcome all repaints from cleverer people, as I have stated above.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/reds.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

I understand where you are coming from but disagree with you. Feedback is what makes us better. If someone feels something isn't that good, they should have the ability to express that. I'm a photographer and post my work for critique online and at exhibition halls. My feelings have never been hurt and you always get the very unproductive critisism from certain people. However their opinion is just as valid as the others. It makes us better and I for one want peoples honest opinion of my work. I have a family to tell me "atta boy Lance" or "wow."I don't need others giving me that B.S. Tell me what you think! I'm a grown man and can take it and I'll damn well do my best to improve. You can't improve if everybody is affraid to express their thoughts.
