CH Products USB Pedals Question

Recommended Posts

A) The guy at stickworks who created CH control manager usually is happy to answer any questions by email, he did for me :) stickworks@worldnet.att.net:( The latest version of CH Control Manager is on CH website:http://www.chproducts.com/retail/tech_support_usb.htmlC) "If I use the CM, it creates two virtual devices. One has Aileron, Elevator, THROTTLE, Rudder, BUT NO BRAKES?????The other has Aileron, Elevator, THROTTLE which makes NO SENSE!"I had _exact_ same problem. The solution (given to me from stickworks guy above) was to remind me the CH readme says to never calibrate CH virtual devices in Windows Control Panel, but to calibrate only in CH Control Manager) and to remind me I may have installed the CH controlers more then once without first completely removing the old installation completely. Doing either of these two things might require completely removing and reinstalling CH Control Manager. And then making brand new maps instead of using the old ones.A normal Uninstall of Control Manger through Windows Control Panel is NOT enough because Windows still retains the bad calibrations for the virtual devices in the registry. I know of two utilities which do this complete registry erasing safely (I had to do this when I had your exact probelem). For deleting all calibrations for all devices in Windows Control panel games aplet:1) Logitech clrcalib.exe at: http://www.wingmanteam.com/latest_software/gadgets.htmFor complete removal of registry references to only the CH branded devices:2) CH DELETE at: http://www.chproducts.com/retail/tech_support_usb.htmlI used 1) (not 2) reinstalled Control Manager and have had zero problems creating maps for FS2002, CFS2, CFS3, Janes WWII, MS Trainsim, etc. for many months now. Control Manager is a great piece of software, in my opinion.== WHK ==

Hi Barry,From your previous post, this is likely part of the problem:>> CH Contol Manager Device 1 contain the following Axis Names:>>>> Aileron>> Elevator>> Throttle>> Rudder (NO BRAKES)>>>>>> CH Contol Manager Device 2>>>> Aileron>> Elevator>> ThrottleIn the Control Manager 1 device, you need to clear the assignment for the rudder. In the Control Manager 2 device you need to clear all three assignments. Once that's done, you need to go assign the X and Y axes to toe brakes and the Z axis to Rudder on Control Manager Device 2.The way the above is set up, both your toe brakes and your yoke are controlling the elevators and ailerons, the yoke throttle and the ProPedals rudder axis is controlling the throttle, and your Prop lever is probably controlling your rudders. FS will try to follow them all, it just takes the data from whichever axis moved last.>> From my previous post, Why does it set up CH Contol Manager Aux 1 Device and CH Contol Manager Aux 2 Device? <http://www.stickworks.com
