Can't Edit textures??? why?

Hi All,Do any aircraft repainters know why I'm not always able to pull bmp files into Photoshop to edit when the following error is occuring:"The file format module cannot parse the file"I was thinking of dabbling with the Textures in the TU-144 recently released & this is the error i get.. Anyone know what needs to be converted first & HOW??RegardsLaz

LAz my best guess is that you need to use the imagetool that comes with FS2002 first to convert the images to a stanadard bmo for editing.http://www.avsim.com/pages/robert/kirkland.jpg

Hmmmmmm..... okIs this tool to be found on the install disks, or will it have been placed into my install somewhere??? & whats it called exactly?Kind RegardsLaz

Some of the textures are in DXT format, and Photoshop does not parse that format.You need to convert texture files from DXT format to 24 or 32bit formatted bmps. If you have the pro version of FS2002 you can use imagetool, which is in the gmax folder in the fs2002 folder.You can also use DXTbmp from Martin Wright at http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/index.htmOnce the file has been converted to 24 or 32 bit you can use PS to do your work. Then the textures need to be converted back to DXT3 format using imagetool or DXTbmp.Hope this helps.Dave
