1.7 Crashing FS on me consistantly

I have had FS crash on me in the past month or so SEVERAL times. I usually run about 5 programs that are related to FS at any given time and I always keep the current version of FSUIPC in my machine. So, to nail down which program (maybe even FS itself) was giving me problems, I formatted my machine and resintalled Winders XP. I then Resinstalled FS, current FSUIPC releast, FSRealTime, FS Flight Tracker, FSNavigator, ActiveSky, Jep Charts, and finally my favorite payware PSS birds. I flew my first flight with everything running from KLAS to KORD and when I got half way the FS hung on me and finally crashed my machine.So, I then take a flight from KORD to KTPA AND I don't run FS Flight Tracker and she crashed on me over BNA (Nashville). It was only later when i found out that I forgot to "connect" FSRealTime, so that wasn't a problem either. I leave KTPA and head for KEWR and turn off everything but ActiveSKy and she crashes on me. I am flying right now from KEWR to EGLL and I am running VATSIM WX.Anybody got any suggestions? Would running the RC 8 help me?Let me edit this with my system specs:Athlon XP 2600+ 333FSBGigibyte KT400 K7 Triton Mobo with current Bios1 GB of 400 MHz RAMPlantronics Headset/Sound2 120 GB Western Digital 8MB buffer in hardware raid via Promise Raid card.19" NEC Flat and 17" CompaqWinXp Pro SP1 fully up-to-date.This machine is stable as a rock! Wilson,Sorry you are having trouble. First, there have been very few reports of FS crashes while running AS. 1. Any error messages when FS crashes?2. If you run AS, a default plane, and nothing else does FS crash?3. Does FS crash every time?Give us more info and we will go from there.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

OK guys, I wish it was Active Sky ROFLOL. At least then, I would KNOW what the problem was.I just had the bird up without AS and she crashed. Hello Wilson,Crashes - have been 'reported' at least a dozen times - and in every case the problem was related to FS2002, video drivers, add-ons, the OS, or other applications. In other words wxRE won't cause crashes but having "weather" in general will cause a greater demand on resources and if something is awry FS2002 might crash.I suggest running without wxRE for a day or 2, manually setting weather (or using FS real weather) so you can see that wxRE isn't causing this (if you are concerned).. Then start with the above 'causes' mentioned to see if you can isolate it. Search this forum for "crash" and you will see some of the older discussions about this.
