Damian,Is there any way to get a full installer for 1.8 - I just reformatted my HD a couple days ago and I'm just getting around to reinstalling all my FS stuff - I'd rather have one "final" WXre installer to put on my payware backup CD than the 1.0 installer and a patch...Thanks!RyanTabsAZ@aol.com

Ryan,If 1.8 had a full installer then ANYONE could download and use AS for free. I hope I didn't mis-understand your request! If you need V1.0, please contact the company you first purchased from.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

OK sorry, maybe I misunderstood how your purchasing system works then - I was assuming that someone who bought the program today for instance would get a link to a 1.8 full EXE when they purchased, similar to how I got a 1.0 back when I bought... no problem, I'll just use the patch!Ryan

Hi Damian,is this official release identical to the last RC7?In other words: do I have to install this version or can I keep the RC7?

Hi this is different than RC7, only slightly but you should be using the official 1.8 release... Hope that helps!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table

What's different from RC7? I hope the winds aloft are fixed.

Revisions to 1.80 (from v1.70)* Improved offline winds aloft download process for better success during problematic internet/server conditions* Added automatic time zone detection option (defaults ON) for easier time processing with less confusion* Fixed problem with offline METAR station data fetch when the station did not exist in the cycle set and Update METAR on new station was not checked (would give "Cloud layer conflict in METAR" message and not update METAR properly until REFRESHED)* Changed default TAF Processing option to ON (now that UTC conversion is automatic)* Added low-bandwidth winds download option (for offline auto-downloads). This reduces the size (and coverage) of winds aloft downloads but will provide better download success for those with slower internet connections* Updated documentation to reflect changesHope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
