Error or Timeout / One Line TAFs

Recommended Posts

Guest

Using latest version getting numerous error or timeouts. When I do get through, the TAFs only have one line covering the whole period. No subsequent lines for various times. Checked many TAFs. All have only one line.

Double check and make sure you are running v1.86 and that is what shows up for the version # on the main AS screen. I've been on most of the day and had good TAFs alnog with everything else!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Ok, I was just double checking. Since your report I went to NOAA and also saw some TAFS as only one line. I also got one at RJSN. Don't know if it is a reporting problem or if they are messing around with their formats again.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Notice the spacing between lines appears double space. The "Offline File" reference in the WxRE docs states that the entries for any individual reporting station should be single spaced with extra space only to separate reporting stations.I modifed a station with Word to eliminate extra spaces and did get the whole TAF to show in WxRE. But WxRE is showing it like this after I eliminated the spaces (directly copied from WxRE TAF window:KGPT 302327Z 010024 14015G30KT 3SM SHRA SCT010 BKN020CB TEMPO 0004 VRB35KT 1SM +TSRA BKN010CB OVC025 FM0500 18010G25KT 4SM SHRA OVC012 TEMPO 0509 2SM TSRA OVC010CB FM1000 20010G20KT P6SM SCT015 BKN025 BKN040 PROB30 1822 3SM -TSRA BKN020CBYou can see that now multiple times are on a single line and some wrap to another line. Will WxRE be able to interpret correctly.

I forgot to attach the TAF file. Its here. I had to delete a lot of it due to AVSIM file size limitation.

Tuesday morning, I saw your message and keyed in KGPT. The whole TAF downloaded fine and showed up in AS as four lines with no spaces in between. From this I say that the TAFs are OK for NOW and we should watch for any other situations.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Hi,There may be a problem with the new NOAA format here - I will have to investigate and check it out.. To confirm, this is happening in OFFLINE mode only, correct?-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table

Damian,Disregard my previous post. I used a cycle file downloaded with version 1.86. I downloaded a new set with 1.87 and the TAFs look fine. The problem is fixed as you said. Sorry for any inconvenience.
